Literature Text

The following morning, Kairi woke up from a wonderous sleep. She stretched her arms and yawned quietly, looking at the clock; 8:30. She sat at the edge of her bed, and realized her clothes felt different. Kairi looked down and saw she was still in her dress from yesterday. It was then that she remembered that she was with Sora last night. But, she didn't remember leaving or coming home...Confused, she opened her door and headed for the kitchen where she saw Sora and her Mom at the kitchen table, eating cereal.

"Well, good morning, sleepy head." Her Mom smiled. Sora looked at Kairi and smiled.

"Morning!" He grinned. Kairi waved.

"Morning...Uh-" Sora finished his cereal and put the bowl in the sink.

"Oh, well, you fell asleep on the beach, and Sora brought you home. Then, he stayed the night. His aunt and I didn't like the idea of him walking home so late at night." Amy stated before Sora had the chance to. Instead, he just nodded.

"Oh!" She blushed. Sora approached her and hugged her.

"Get some breakfast, then meet me by the dock." He said to her, before heading out the door. Before she could protest, he was gone.

"Oh, and don't worry about school. I called and said you weren't feeling good since you slept in." Her Mom told her as she cleaned up. Kairi just stood there, confused and unsure of what to say. Her Mom turned away from the sink and rolled her eyes at her daughter. "Well, eat something. You don't want to keep Sora waiting." And she was back to cleaning. Hestitantly, Kairi got herself some cereal and ate.

Kairi ate, changed her clothes to another pink dress; same style, just different hue of pink, brushed her hair and teeth, then headed to the dock, where she waited for Sora. He showed up shortly after she did with a small back-pack on his back, and an iPod dock. Sora walked up to her and smiled.

"Ready?" He asked.

"For what, exactly?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow at him. He laughed.

"For an adventure." He lead her to the boat, helped her in, and he began to row it towards the islands. Once there, and out of the boat, Sora set down the dock onto a rock, and hit play on his iPod. It began to play a Bruno Mars song. Kairi stood there really confused, but Sora walked up to her, took one hand in his, and took her to the tree where they ususally hang out. He helped her up onto the weird shaped trunk, and then joined her. She smiled at him and they just sat there. Sora then pulled his bag from around his back, and retrieved a small box, but placed it behind him. Kairi was going to say something, but instead, she pretended she didn't see anything. For a while, they just sat and watched the clouds and swayed to the music.

"So, this is our adventure?" Kairi said finally. Sora smiled, and turned red.

"Yeah, kinda." He fell silent.

"What?" Kairi turned her body to face him and stared at him with a worried face.

"Well, uh...I wanted-I wanted to talk to you about something." He looked away, and fidgeted. Kairi turned off the music with the remote he brought and waited.

"You know you can talk to me about anything, Sora." She said sincerly. He looked at her and gave a small smile.

"I know, it's just that-....I don't know. This is kinda different. I don't know how to say it, and I am afraid of your reaction." He began to twidle his thumbs, but Kairi took hold of one of his hands, and smiled at him.

"Sora, please just tell me. You don't have to be nervous." Sora smiled again, and nodded. This is one of the many reasons why he liked her; she always was positive, she cared deeply about him, and always knew what to say. Kairi was his ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.

"You're right, Kairi. Okay." He turned his body to face her, and took both her hands in his. "Kairi...I just wanted to....to say that I-I really like...you." He heaved out a heavy sigh and felt a lot better, finally telling her. "And I have for...a long time now. I just never had the guts to tell you." Both of them turned bright red. What he didn't expect was a giant hug from Kairi. She had scooted closer and wrapped her arms around him.

"Sora, I have been waiting to hear this for a long time, because...I like you, too." He smiled big and hugged her back.

"That was what I wanted to hear." He whispered into her ear. They stayed like that for a while, just holding each other, and eventually, when they pulled a part, Sora spoke again. "Oh, there is something else, too." He reached behind him, and brought up the box from before and presented it to her. Kairi took it gingerly and opened it; it revealed a beautiful sterling-silver necklace with a heart locket. On the locket, it had some floral designs on it, with a ribbon-like design across the middle. Kairi almost broke down crying, it was so pretty.

"Sora-it's..it's beautiful." She spoke softly. "But, I-" He cut her off, took the necklace out of the box, and gently turned her around. He unclasped the latch, and put it around her neck, and re-clasping it. It fit perfectly, and looked amazing on her. Her other necklace was a bit shorter than this one, so it still showed.

"I want you to have it." He whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her body close to his. She leaned into him, and rested her head on his shoulder. "It look amazing on you at Prom, too." Kairi blushed, and turned her head to him.

"What?"

"Will you go to Prom with me?" He smiled. She just nodded violently.

"Yes!" Kairi, without thinking about it, leaned up and kissed his cheek. When this happened, they both flustered and she turned away quickly. "Sorry." She was so embarrased, but that changed when he cupped her chin in his hand, turned her towards him and planted a kiss on her lips. He closed his eyes and remained on her lips. Kairi, still in shock, slowly closed her eyes and kissed back. Sora moved his hand to behind her head, while she placed hers on his knee. It was their first kiss; Kairi's dreams had come true, as did Soras'. This was the best moment in both of their lives.
They soon pulled away and gazed into each others eyes. Her blue eyes seemed to sparkle at Sora, and he liked it. Smiling, he pulled Kairi into his arms, cuddling close on the tree.
Sorry this one is pretty short, but the next one will better. :D I hope you enjoy this one.
